⚙️ How It Works
This BiDi transceiver uses wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) to enable bidirectional data on a single fiber: one wavelength (1310 nm) for transmitting and another (1550 nm) for receiving. Because of this, you must use it in a matched pair with a complementary BiDi SFP module (e.g., GE-SFP-LX20-SM1550-BIDI) at the other end of the fiber link.
📍 Use Cases
✔ Gigabit Ethernet fiber links between switches, routers, or media converters
✔ Campus backbone connections or long-distance uplinks
✔ Networks where fiber count is limited — BiDi reduces required fiber strands
